Child Protection & Safeguarding

Chipping Sodbury Rugby Football Club, its Officers, Coaches and Committee Members acknowledge the personal dignity and rights of children, towards whom they have a special responsibility and duty of care.

As part of a Club, and as individuals, we will do everything in our power to provide a safe environment for children and young people for their protection from harm while they are in our care.  If there is any reason to suspect neglect or that abuse has been committed, Chipping Sodbury RFC will report our concerns to the appropriate authority.

All the Officers, Coaches, Committee Members and helpers of Chipping Sodbury RFC Mini & Youth Section are screened and police checked before taking a role with the organisation.  This procedure is undertaken by the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure that those who have children in their care or are working with children on behalf of Chipping Sodbury RFC, any primary or secondary school and/or the local council, are safe to do so.

All Chipping Sodbury Mini & Youth Officers, Coaches, Managers and helpers are fully acquainted with the requirements of the Child Protection Act and have attended the relevant RFU delivered/led courses where child protection is a primary focus.

Our Safeguarding Officers are visible at training sessions and on match days.  Should you have any issues relating to the safety of a child or young person at the club or involved in rugby related activities please do not hesitate to speak to either one of our coaching staff or to one of our Safeguarding Officers.
